Seasons & Events
A few reasons to time your visit — more will be added as the calendar fills in.
Christmas Markets of Alsace
Colmar and its wine-route villages fill with wooden chalets, mulled wine and lights from late November through December — one of the best-known reasons to visit the region in winter.
The Alsace Wine Route
170 km of vineyards and half-timbered villages between Marlenheim and Thann — the backbone of any Alsace itinerary, best done slowly, village by village.
Cycling the Piste du Vignoble
A signposted cycling route running the length of the Wine Route, largely flat and well served by places to stop for lunch or a night.
Best Time to Visit
Late spring and early autumn for quiet roads and good weather; September–October for the grape harvest; late November–December for the Christmas markets.
